The Thrifting Therapist is where mental wellness meets the magic of thrifting.This is more than a blog about cute secondhand finds (though you’ll definitely see plenty of those). It’s a safe space for sensitive, big-hearted women who are tired of feeling burned out, stretched thin, and stuck in old patterns. Here, we talk about how to set boundaries, protect your energy, and bring more joy into your daily life — while creating a home and wardrobe you love, without overspending.


Why I Started The Thrifting Therapist

For years, I lived in a cycle of doing more, giving more, and trying harder while feeling like it was never enough. I come from a West Texas, military family and while I knew I was loved deeply, a core belief to "getter done" as we Texans like to say was ingrained in my soul.


I ignored my own feelings, over planned my days, and let my needs fall to the bottom of the list. I knew what burnout felt like, and it wasn’t pretty.


But I also knew there was another way. Through journaling, processing my emotions in safe spaces, and getting intentional about my routines, I began to heal. And somewhere along the way, I discovered that thrifting — yes, hunting for secondhand treasures — became an unexpected part of my mental wellness journey.


Thrifting taught me patience. It reminded me that good things take time. It helped me appreciate the beauty in imperfection, and it encouraged me to be resourceful and creative both in my closet and in my mind.
